Episodes – Get The Fuck Out of the Sun

Melissa Wood-Tepperberg

Melissa Wood-Tepperberg is a mom, wife, digital entrepreneur and certified health and wellness coach. She is probably best known for the community she has built -- Melissa Wood Health -- that aims to guide you to a place of loving and accepting yourself, exactly as you are. But before she built her health and wellness empire, she had moved to NYC as a makeup artist so she KNOWS HER SHIT. Skincare and beauty isn’t just about the tools and the products -- your lifestyle, mindset, nutrition and relationships all play a big role too. If you've ever doubted the power of meditation, movement or a plant-FOCUSED diet, listen up because she shares exactly how she was able to step into her clear skin using those three pillars. WE GET INTO: treating acne with meditation, micro-level nutrition, colonics, the benefits of spirulina, how to get thick hair & nails, how she tints her brows at home, her personal experience with Botox and filler, dry brushing/lymphatic drainage/gua sha, and every single skincare and make up product she SWEARS by. She even shares the HOTTEST tip on what she has found to be the ultimate GAME-CHANGING treatment.

Justin Anderson

We sat down with everyone’s favorite hair guru, Justin Anderson. Justin is a native of Southern California so he grew up near the water and spent his time surfing with his parents & siblings. All of that time in the sun naturally lightened his hair, which led him to pursue a career coloring hair and starting his own hair care line, dpHUE. He is undeniably the most sought-after blonde guru. Vogue even called him “a rising star of blonde Hollywood.'' His work extends well beyond blondes, and his clientele is made up of celebrities like Kristin Cavallari, Jennifer Anniston, Miley Cyrus and Gwyneth Paltrow to name a few. We get into celebrity skin secrets, scalp health & how to have thicker/healthier/stronger hair, how to manipulate your man into manscaping, the best hair extension method, his favorite beauty tool, how to stimulate your face muscles, affordable drug store finds, hot yoga, meditation, and changes he made to his nutrition/diet that have helped his skin.

Katonya Breaux

Today we’re sitting down with Katonya Breaux to talk all things SUNSCREEN. Katonya spent the first 20 years of her career in the construction business and NEVER thought she would end up in the skincare industry. She grew up in Los Angeles and spent a lot of time outdoors -- never wearing sunscreen and figuring that dark skin wasn’t as affected by the sun. But after one visit to the dermatologist to have a mole checked out, she was told it was from sun damage. She went to buy sunscreen and was frustrated by the lack of clean sunscreen products for people of color -- so she founded Unsun Cosmetics which provides clean, no-residue sun protection products. It’s so major. She has played a HUGE role in educating people of color on the need to protect their skin from sun damage and skin cancer and she’s had a BIG influence on making sure the skincare industry is becoming more inclusive. She breaks down all things SPF/sunscreen -- from micro level ingredients, to bluelight and what effect it actually has on your skin, to how to incorporate SPF into your makeup routine.

Arielle Lorre

Join me as I sit down with Arielle Lorre -- one of the most transparent people out there when it comes to the beauty treatments and procedures she’s had done. She is also one of the most well-versed and knowledgeable beauty influencers out there. After hitting rock bottom and almost losing her battle against addiction, she decided to turn her life around by relentlessly pursuing health and happiness and found her passion in being a creator. She has a blog and podcast called The Blonde Files where she covers everything from fitness to fashion to wellness. She has interviewed the coolest people in the beauty and skincare industries and knows every single product, procedure and game changing hack out there. This interview was AMAZING because she is so open with everything she has tried (the good and the bad) and she spills everything from her very first Botox appointment, to her biggest beauty regret, to how the doctor chooses where to pull fat from for a fat transfer. We also get into whether celebrities and influencers should be more transparent in general about whether or not they’ve had work done.

Dr. Dennis Gross

Dr. Dennis Gross is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who has been in practice for 25 years. He is a MAJOR expert in the field- so major that I knew he had to write the foreword for my book, ‘Get the Fuck Out of The Sun’ AND kick off the limited series, duh. He created award-winning Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare which delivers clinical level results from the comfort of your own home. Of course he is also nationally recognized for his expertise in skin health as well as his approach to creating and maintaining the most natural-looking skin. Another cool DDG fact: he’s an expert in detecting and treating skin cancer, so he knows to GTFOOTS. In the episode, we discuss injections, how to micro-manage at your lip filler appointment, treating acne, how and where to apply retinol, how to best take care of your eyes/eyelids, and why you really need to amp up your collagen game. AND WE TALK DETAILS LIKE WE NEVER HAVE BEFORE.

Kristin Cavallari

Kristin Cavallari is a mother, a television personality, media mogul and an entrepreneur. Her most recent venture, Uncommon Beauty, is a brand that focuses on clean, minimalistic skincare. Kristin has spent so much time behind the scenes of the industry researching and testing to create this line- making her an INCREDIBLE resource on all things skincare. TEA SPILLED: She opens up about why she isn’t getting filler or Botox, makeup hacks, her skin care tips, AM & PM routine, her facialist’s secrets, facial massage details and MORE. This episode is like having happy hour with me & Kristin (but she’s definitely drinking organic wine).
